Why people call Carters

Because good engineering should feel straightforward.

Carters Plumbing & Heating is led by Adam Carter, a fully qualified heating engineer with more than 25 years in the trade. The business grew from a simple belief: the person working in your home should be capable, honest about the options, and careful with the details.

That applies whether the job is a boiler repair, a bathroom project or a heat pump for the next chapter of your home. You get an informed recommendation, a tidy installation and a clear answer when you need one.

Our story · history

A family line of useful ideas.

Owned by Adam Carter, Carters brings more than 25 years of experience in the trade to the homes of Chichester, Arun and West Sussex.

The company also has a direct heritage connection to Charles William Pinkney (1856–1936), Adam’s great-great-great-grandfather. An eminent gas engineer and inventor from Smethwick, Pinkney patented a petroleum engine.

Then · now

From pioneering gas engineering to carefully specified modern heating, the work is still about understanding how things function and making homes better for the people in them.
